As part of HankFest at Wishbone Restaurant (West Loop location), we're inviting Chicago-area restaurants & chefs to enter our annual Jambalaya Cookoff. You’ll be competing against other local chefs & restaurants for bragging rights AND cash.

On Sunday, September 18th, HankFest will feature its annual Jambalaya Cookoff. (it's one of our favorite parts of the event). You'll meet & greet music and food fans from all over the city, get together with other chefs AND promote your restaurant. It's fun, and a great way to make new customers.


 $200 FIRST PRIZE (JAMBALAYA)

$50 FIRST PRIZE (CORNBREAD)
Entry Fee: Add $20.00




NOTE:
Cornbread Entry Must Accompany Jambalaya Entry
- No Exceptions

WHAT CONTESTANTS GET:
1. Chance for bragging rights to "Best Jambalaya In Chicago" for 1 year.
2. HankFest collectible T-Shirt ($17.00 value).
3. Listing in Hankfest.com for 1 year ($100.00 value).
4. Free admission for Chef plus 2 crew to HankFest ($15.00 value).
5. Exposure to excellent target demographic (food & music fans).
6. Opportunity for related on-air cooking segments. NOTE: As part of our promotional push, you'll have a chance to appear live on a Chicago TV or radio station for a cooking/music demo, pairing you with one of our guest musicians. (playing "Jambalaya," of course!)

WHAT 1st PRIZE WINNER GETS:
1. $200.00 Grand Prize;
2. Banner ad & listing on HankFest.com for 1 year ($200.00 value);

4. Follow up press release announcing winner (your recipe is included in follow-up release PLUS listed on HankFest.com for 1 year);
6. And (perhaps most valuable of all) bragging rights for 1 year.

WHAT YOU PROVIDE (JAMBALAYA CONTEST):
1. 2 gallons of your Jambalaya in disposable hotel 1/2 pan, cooked & hot. NOTE: Cambros & chafers will be available to keep your Jambalaya hot.
2. Your promotional materials (cookbooks, menus, merchandise, coupons, etc.);
3. Culinary assistant;
4. Any graphics you have (photos, logos, Thumbnail graphics, hyperlinks, email addresses, etc. for their recipe for publication. IMPORTANT: Any graphics/artwork must be provided no later than Sept 5th! (we want to include you in our promo materials.)

WHAT YOU PROVIDE (CORNBREAD CONTEST):
1. One full sheet pan of your cornbread (cooked & hot).

SHOWTIME!
Bring your cooked and hot Jambalaya to Wishbone's West Loop location between 2:30 - 3PM on Sunday, September 18; We'll have a table for you, plus disposable bowls, spoons and napkins. Be at stage at 4PM for awards ceremony.

JUDGES:
To be announced.

JUDGING:
1. Entrants will choose random numbers from a hat, numbers will be assigned to each jambalaya entry;
2. Judges will taste each entry, starting from #1 through final entry;
3. Jambalaya will be judged by category, such as: taste, flavor, “Hankover” (best for hangover), etc.;
4. Points will be given for each category (1 - 5);
5. Highest overall point total is the winner.

TIE: In the event of a tie, winner will be decided (by audience applause) by who sings best version (live, onstage) of "Jambalaya."
