Growing
up in North Carolina, Seven Harkey swished
with country music, gargled with pop, and
spit southern rock. Greyhounding to San Francisco
on the cusp of the early-Nineties Alt-Country
surge, he explored his varied roots in the
garagey Farmgirl and his
powerfolk quartet, The Lomaxes. But critical
acclaim didn't soothe Seven's hunger for a
change of atmosphere, so he headed east for
the chill of Chicago. There, alone and with
cohorts, he continues to take his unique brand
of guitar-playing and word-singing to new
levels of strum and bash. |

| Low
Rent has made a name for itself by playing roots-based
rock 'n roll throughout Chicago since 1997.
With members hailing from New York, New Jersey,
Missouri, downstate Illinois and Texas, Low
Rent draws from disparate influences. Nevertheless,
the common thread throughout Low Rent's music
is a wish to acknowledge the contributions of
great artists while forging their own musical
identity. Both high and lonesome, Low Rent evokes
the true spirit of Hank Williams. Low Rent is
proud to honor Hank's personal and musical legacy. |

Called
"an impressive singer, guitarist, and
songwriter" by RollingStone, Antje has
been garnering considerable attention for
her country-infused tunes and high-energy
live shows. It's no surprise that Antje was
recently honored by the International Songwriting
Competition for "Take It To The Bank,"
a pure country ballad that "opens with
such a good old-fashioned Nashville vibe,
I expected to hear Johnny Cash's voice come
out of the speakers." indie-music.com
"...Her recent Nashville bookings
have this artist on the verge of super stardom."

Lonesome
Halos
"It's
Mighty Lonesome Being Good"
Shunning standard music labels, Lonesome Halos
perform "American Maverick" music
- they write and play the kind of music they'd
like to hear themselves, without falling into
any specific category. To use a musical map...
some people say they hear strains of Tom Petty,
Bruce Springsteen, Lynard Skynyrd, Blues Traveler,
Neil Young, Hank Williams—even a little
rockabilly, too. |

Lisa
DeRosia grew up in a musical family in Michigan
City, IN, where she sang in her church. After
forming and performing in other bands, she
and ex-fiancé Greg Schultz (guitar,
pedal steel) created Lush
Budgett in 1996. She eventually reunited
with another former band member (Mitch Straeffer,
bass), then added Steve Doyle (dobro, guitar,
trombone, mandolin, vocals) and Gerald Dowd
(drums) to complete the lineup. DeRosia also
teaches Wiggleworms and guitar classes at
the Old
Town School of Folk Music, and directs
children’s musical theater productions.

In
the time-honored tradition of paying his dues,
Steve Ramone has been playing in "bars
from here to there, pointing in opposite directions,"
as he tells the story. There have been many
incarnations, from ten piece rock bands to
one man shows, but there is always a common
theme: Edge + Pop=Fun. His first solo recording
entitled Julio Strikes Again will
be released next June on Stoney Records. |
